Welcome to The Portree Hotel

Portree is a small town, set around a picturesque natural harbour. The Harbour itself is a hub of activity as it continues to be utilised by fishing boats, pleasure boats and many visiting cruise ships. Portree is a beautiful, peaceful town, with a rich history and culture, and as such has become a bustling tourist destination. It is a great central base from which to explore other parts of the island to experience its natural beauty and unspoilt landscapes. It is also surrounded by spectacular views, part of the majestic Cuillin Mountain range being one of them.

The Portree Hotel, originally built in 1875, is centrally located, built on the corner of the town’s main street, Wentworth Street and overlooking Somerled Square, the town’s main square. The main bus stop and taxi ranks are on the doorstep, offering direct links to other parts of the island.

The hotel offers 24 en-suite rooms, with all the expected facilities including 32” flat screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and irons.

The Antlers Bar and Grill and West Highland Bar feature wood burning stoves which creates a cosy and comfortable atmosphere suitable for families. Live music is generally played on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the year, in The West Highland Bar.

The team look forward to welcoming you, and will endeavour to ensure that your stay on The Isle of Skye is a truly memorable one.

Please note: The hotel does not have a lift. We will be happy to help transport
luggage up stairs for you.
